Getting Botox is only half the process — the care you follow in the hours and days after is equally important to ensure the product sets correctly and results are optimal.

Care in the First 4 Hours

During the first 4 hours after application: keep your head upright and avoid lying down or bending forward; do not touch, rub, or massage the treated areas; avoid makeup on the application zones; refrain from intense physical exercise.

What to Avoid in the First 24 Hours

In the 24-hour post-application period it's important to: avoid alcohol; avoid exposure to intense heat sources (saunas, steam rooms, direct sun); avoid high-intensity physical activities; avoid facial massages or cosmetic treatments on the treated zones. All these precautions aim to prevent the product from migrating to unintended areas.

Care During the First Week

During the first 7 days post-Botox: avoid aggressive facial treatments like peels or microdermabrasion; use sunscreen daily; do not apply retinol creams to treated areas without consulting your doctor. It is normal to see the full result only at 14 days — don't evaluate it before then.

When Should You Contact Your Doctor?

Although complications are very infrequent with correct technique, consult your doctor if you notice: marked asymmetry after 14 days, difficulty opening your eyes, intense or persistent pain, or any unusual reaction. At EWAH you have direct access to your treating physician throughout the entire process. Contact us at ewah-derm.com.
