¿What is Botox?
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a purified protein used in cosmetic treatments to reduce wrinkles and expression lines. It works by blocking nerve signals to muscles, causing them to temporarily relax. How long do the effects of Botox last and how often should I get it done?
Los resultados del Botox duran entre 3 y 6 meses dependiendo del metabolismo individual, el area tratada y la cantidad de producto aplicada. Las areas con mayor movimiento muscular como frente y entrecejo tienden a necesitar retoques con mayor frecuencia. En EWAH recomendamos sesiones de mantenimiento cada 4-6 meses para mantener resultados optimos y prevenir la formacion de arrugas profundas. Con el tiempo, muchos pacientes necesitan dosis menores gracias al relajamiento muscular acumulado.

En Colombia el Botox se puede aplicar desde los 18 anos, aunque en EWAH recomendamos iniciar el tratamiento preventivo entre los 25 y 30 anos, cuando aparecen las primeras lineas de expresion. El Botox preventivo es ideal para retrasar la formacion de arrugas profundas. No existe limite de edad superior, siempre que el paciente este en buen estado de salud.
