Vascular lesions treated with vascular laser at EWAH are effectively eliminated and generally do not reappear in the same area. However, new lesions may appear over time if the factors that cause them persist (accumulated sun damage, genetic couperose, rosacea). To prevent new lesions from appearing we recommend: strict and daily sun protection, use of products with active ingredients to strengthen blood vessel walls (vitamin C, hesperidin, troxerutine), and maintenance sessions when necessary.

After vascular laser at EWAH it is recommended to: avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks, apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen daily, do not manipulate the small scabs that form (let them fall off naturally), avoid exposure to high temperatures (sauna, jacuzzi) during the first week, apply soothing moisturizing cream to the treated area, do not use makeup in the treated area for the first 24-48 hours (for the face), and attend the follow-up check scheduled by the physician.

Vascular laser generates a sensation of small heat pinches during the procedure, similar to a rubber band gently hitting the skin. At EWAH we apply topical anesthetic cream or cold air to maximize comfort during the procedure. After treatment there may be: redness and mild swelling in the treated area that disappears in a few hours, small scabs at treated points that fall off on their own in 5-7 days, and mild transient discoloration (brown scab) in the treated vessel before its reabsorption. Recovery is quick and patients can resume activities the same day.

The number of vascular laser sessions depends on the type, size and number of lesions to be treated. For individual facial telangiectasias, generally 1 to 3 sessions spaced every 4-6 weeks are needed. For diffuse couperose or rosacea, 3 to 6 sessions are recommended. Each session at EWAH takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the extent of the lesions. Results are visible from the first day and progressively improve with each session.

At EWAH we treat the following lesions with vascular laser: telangiectasias or facial spider veins (small red or purple veins visible on the skin), couperose or rosacea (diffuse redness with dilated vessels on the face), small-caliber spider veins on legs, ruby nevi or angiomas (red spots on the skin), superficial hemangiomas, and erythema spots (persistent redness). It is not suitable for large varicose veins of the legs, which require specific phlebology treatments.

Vascular laser at EWAH uses laser light of specific wavelength that is selectively absorbed by oxyhemoglobin (the blood pigment). This energy is converted to heat that selectively damages and coagulates abnormal or dilated blood vessels (without affecting surrounding skin), causing their closure and subsequent natural reabsorption by the body. The process is called selective photothermolysis. The result is elimination of the visible vascular lesion with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
